Crime and Punishment

This is the headline to this article from Sky News

Teen Child Rapist Who Struck Again Named

Here is an extract from the article;

A teenager who was jailed for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl while already on bail after raping a 10-year-old girl has been named.

Why in god's name was he on bail for rape, of a 10 year old, in the first place?

What were they thinking letting a sex attacker, of young girls, out on the streets again.

Didn't they think he might attack someone else. Don't they think rape is a serious crime any more?

Another extract from the article;

On Monday, Heaton was ordered to serve a minimum of five years behind bars at Liverpool Crown Court for the "truly chilling" ordeal he subjected on his victims.

After two sex attacks, one of them a rape, they give him five, yes that's right 5 years.

He should be in jail for at the very least 15 - 20 years, before he is even up for parole.

What if he is still a danger to the public after the five years, will they still let him out?

They probably would because it will be against his (in) human rights.

This is a another extract from the article;

His identity has now been revealed after Judge David Harris QC ended a legal delay, which had been placed to ensure security could be installed to protect the boy from his prison inmates.

'Protect the boy from his prison inmates'.

The victims may not of got proper justice, but from what i have heard there is nothing like justice given out by fellow prisoners to sick twisted monsters like this scum.

Social Workers

Here are two stories dealing with social workers and how far they go.

Story 1.

Edlington: report into failures says council treated sadistic brothers as 'naughty boys'

What those two did to those poor boys is horrific, it is beyond anyone's imagination that two children could do that without any sort of remorse.

We see again social workers again failing to do what is right.

A quote from the article;

Education staff at the council failed to take appropriate action when the brothers were excluded from school, which meant that they did not receive any education.

The review concluded that the boys’ behaviour had become so extreme by late 2008 that professionals were “overwhelmed” and lacked the confidence to do anything at all.

How many more times will we see stories like this or like the story of baby Peter.

I don't know the answer to all this is, but it has to change before we lose more children to this evil path of hate and destruction similar to what these two boys did.

Story 2.

Mother 'not clever enough to raise child' has baby snatched by social workers after running away to Ireland to give birth.

This story is about a girl with mild learning difficulties, who was pregnant and went on the run to Ireland to avoid the social services taking her baby away.

Now, if this girl was on her own i could understand the council's position, but she was with the child's father and was in a loving relationship so there was some stability there.

Fife council was alerted and they went to Ireland and took the baby away.

My problem with this is, if they were worried about the baby why didn't they keep a check on the baby and the parents to see if she was being cared for properly. If the baby was being neglected in any way then yes take the baby into care.

You could say social workers are damned if they do and damned if they don't, but there has to be a middle ground where the welfare of the child, and in the case of the Edlington boys, the welfare of others in the area must be the priority.

Aren't we even Allowed to Protect Ourselves in OUR OWN Homes?

I ask this question after reading the Telegraph article about Myleen Klass' incident i blogged about yesterday.

What are we allowed to do to protect ourselves, if an intruder breaks into our homes?

Here is a quote from the article;

Miss Klass, 31, who was alone in her house in Potters Bar, Herts, with her two-year-old daughter, Ava, called the police. When they arrived at her house they informed her that she should not have used a knife to scare off the youths because carrying an "offensive weapon" – even in her own home – was illegal.

The police arrived at her house and informed her that carrying a knife is illegal. So are the police saying we must get rid of every implement that might be used as an offensive weapon.

I hope the police gave her reassurance and helped calm Myleen's nerves, before they told her she acted illegally in her own home.

Aren't we allowed to protect our family and home any more?

What are the rights for the law abiding citizens of this country who work hard, pay income tax, council tax, who just want to keep their family safe and secure.

It is our human right to feel safe and secure in our own home, and if someone tries to break in to our home then that person does so with the knowledge that the owner of the home he is breaking into, has the right to protect themselves, their family and their home by any and all means at his disposal.

I don't like violence, but when it comes to protecting my family and home i will do anything necessary to protect them.

The police might say that you should call them straight away and hide, but how long will they take to get to you. I am a great believer in the police, but my belief has taken a few knocks over the last few years.

I know it isn't all their fault, they have been drowning in red tape for years, had more laws to enforce then ever before, 3000 new laws at the last count, and the human (criminals) rights act has certainly held them back.

Check out PC Bloggs (Blog) for what the police have to get through. It certainly is an eye opener.

We have to take back our streets from the scum of the earth that inhabits it at the moment.

The police must be allowed to do their job without the human (criminals) rights act getting in the way. Also get rid of all the red tape, health and safety rubbish that they have to right up before they even step out of the door.

When will this happen?

I don't know, but something has to be done soon before we lose the battle altogether.

I can't believe this news story.

Knife hero Myleene ticked off by police.

That is the headline to this article in the Sun today.

This is a quote from the article;

TELLY beauty Myleene Klass was told off by cops for waving a knife through her WINDOW to scare off yobs skulking in her garden at night.

Forgetting for the moment that she is a celebrity.

You have a woman alone in her house with a baby, when she sees two teenagers lurking about in her garden and looking in through the window.

She becomes scared for herself and her baby not knowing what these two are going to do. She looks for something to protect herself with, and it is a knife.

Now she waves it at the two teenagers and shouts that she is calling the police. Luckily they ran off.

Here is a quote from the article;

Desperate to protect her daughter and her home, brave Myleene, 31 - whose fiance Graham Quinn was away on business - grabbed a kitchen knife and waved it, shouting: "I'm calling the police."

But when cops arrived they told her she could have got into trouble with the law - even though she was in her own HOME and the yobs were outside.

This is what i cannot believe, she was in her own home, she was scared and wanted to protect herself and her daughter. She didn't know if they were going break in to rob her house or rape her, and the police said that she could of got into trouble. like it says in the article, she was acting on instinct to protect herself and her baby.

When a woman on her own with a baby can't protect herself, inside her own home, then the law has become an ass.

It has been said before by many people that the criminal has more rights now than the victim. That is such a travesty.

You have yobs, teenagers and adults, out there that have been arrested ten, twenty, thirty times, sometimes more, yet they never get sent to prison. WHY?

There are yobs on our streets that have no fear of the law, because they know that they would most probably get probation or at worst a year or two in jail. Even then the sentence would be halved to make more room in the jail.

It is time for every law abiding person in this country to get together and say enough is enough. We must put pressure, somehow, on our politicians to make sure our streets are safer, that the punishment fits the crime.

'Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime'.

Remember that quote, did he ever mean it or was it just spin?

Crime and Punishment

Why doesn't this surprise me.

Back in June this year a judge gives a sixteen year old boy a community service order for the rape of a 7 year old boy.

A week later he abducts and rapes a five year old boy.

What in the hell was this judge thinking letting a rapist go with a community order, which is basically letting him go free and do what he like.

You can read the article here.

The following is a quote by the judge, from the article;

"I have to say I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in reaching the conclusion that you are indeed a dangerous offender."

The youngster was sentenced to three years four months but with time already spent in custody taken into consideration he will serve two years, 359 days before he is assessed as being safe enough to release back into the community.

The judge admits that the boy is a danger to the public, but gives him three years.

Rape of any sort is one of the most serious offences to commit against another person, even worse if it is against a child, and he is sentenced to three years. Words fail me.

The police catch him, twice, get all the evidence against him and they send it to the Crown Prosecution Service. The CPS take him to court, where he pleads guilty. The first time he is up in front of a judge he is basically set free, and the second time he is up in front of a judge he is given three years.

Do these so called judges think that rape isn't a serious crime?

I want both of the judges to go to the families of these two boys and look them in the eye and explain why they gave this sixteen year old such short sentences.

I have said it before and i will say it again the judicial system needs changing, especially the judges. We need judges who know what it is like out in the real world, not in their pampered world they live in. Get rid of the costumes they wear and drag them into the 21st century.

I feel for the two families, especially the two young boys, whose lives have been ruined. With love and support i hope they get through this nightmare and live as happy as possible.

UPDATE:

I have just found this Blog by 'The Policeman's Blog' . It goes on about the same subject.

A Very Interesting Article about the UK

Politicians chose to put you in this mess
Policies can make Britain's financial and social problems worse - or better, argues Irwin Stelzer.

The above is the headline to an article, that in my opinion, is worth reading.
(See Link)

From what the article says, we can get Britain back on it's feet and working it's way back to becoming Great Britain again. It just needs someone with the bottle of someone like Margaret Thatcher to kick start this.

I know some people don't like her, but like her or hate her she had the bottle to go against all of the European commission and get a rebate for Britain. She went up against the unions and won.

Britain is now close to, if not, in the gutter. We need to look at every policy and make it work, by either changing it or getting rid of it and making a new one that works for all the people of the UK.

Have a read of the article and see what you think.

Crime and Neighbourhood Policing

I have just been reading about Amy Newlove, daughter of Gary Newlove and her question to Gordon Brown about why her fathers murderers were given such soft sentences.
(See Link)

The Prime Minister, speaking at the event organised by Key 103, a Manchester radio station, said crime had fallen but there were now more people in prison, which showed sentences had got tougher.

He added: 'I think, in the longer term, neighbourhood policing is the better thing for all of us. We want to see a visible presence of police on our streets.'

I have a point or two to say about what Gordon Brown said.

He says that crime has fallen and that there are more people in prison. Yes there are more people in prison, but Gordon you are letting other criminals out early so the new ones, or those ones you let out early who re offend return to the prison.

Crime hasn't fallen, it has just been reduced by putting certain crimes in a different category, and by using the crime survey and not the proper crime figures.

With all the crimes reported in the news, locally and nationally, the politicians must be hiding the real crime figures. I think it would be frightening to know what the real figures are.

What will happen when we have another murder like that of Gary Newlove. What will their sentence be?
There have been other murders like this before and there will be others in the future. It is obvious that there needs to be stronger sentences for these type of murders, and murders in general.

It doesn't help when we have this Human Rights, 'for criminals', Act, which only seems to help the low life criminals and not the victims and the innocent people of this country.

Gordon says 'neighbourhood policing is the better thing for all of us.'

Gordon i hate to tell you this, but we had neighbourhood policing years ago, but over the years there have been less and less police walking in our communities.

When i was a lad i saw a policemen nearly everyday walking through town and the surrounding areas, and we had a police station in nearly every town. Policing has become centralised, due to a number of factors. One being better communications, and less money, so they think they won't be needing all the police stations scattered around the country.

Now we have these PCSOs who we see out in our towns. PCSOs can only do a fraction of what a fully trained policeman can do. I would rather have 5 fully trained police than 15 PCSOs.

The police, the courts and sentencing has to be radically changed so the general public can feel safe in our homes and our streets again.

ASBO Youths to be Named and Shamed says PM

The Prime Minister says ASBO youths will be named and shamed by having their names published on the internet and by leaflet. (See Link)

Will it be a deterrent to those hardcore youths out there determined to cause havoc on our streets. In my opinion Not A Chance.

The only way to combat these youths is to have police patrolling our streets. The police also need to know that they won't be held back by any politically correct rubbish. There are times for the police to be tactful, and there are other times when they need to be forceful.

Having the police patrolling our streets is one thing, the other is the courts. When the police arrest someone, say for disturbing the peace or even assault, the police gather evidence and send it to the CPS, they go to court and they get a conviction. Then the magistrates sentence them to a ridiculously soft sentence, even though the same person has been in front of them before.

The whole system need to be changed.

The PM quotes;
''The consequences for committing anti-social behaviour should be clear.''
Mr Brown said he was renewing the Government's focus on crime in the weeks ahead as he promised to ''make life better for the mainstream majority''.

I have just one thing i have to say to the PM, remember what your party said twelve and a half years ago.

What you can't remember, here let me remind you;

'TOUGH ON CRIME, TOUGH ON THE CAUSES OF CRIME'

You're a bit late, you should of stuck to what you said all those years ago.

Things that make me smile.

I was sent two links today on my email and both of them made me smile.

They aren't jokes, but more of a comeuppance to so called hard, in your face, scum you see on our streets nowadays.

The first is of a home owner standing his ground while being shouted at by a 'hard' in your face youth. In the video he shouts and swears at the home owner threatening him and trying to get him to fight.

See what happens and see how hard this hard man really is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oefo00eB_1Q

The other one is about what looks like a night out and a couple of drunken youths fighting and then walking away. As they walk away they start on some cross dressers, but what they don't realise is that the two cross dressers are actually cage fighters. oh dear me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCE5VbgpP3I

Now just to let you know i don't like violence, and i would rather walk away from anything that may become violent, but what these two got for trying to be hard men made me smile. Getting what's coming to you, comes to mind.

What is Happening?

I have just been reading about those 2 boys who beat up stabbed two other young boys.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/6132856/Torture-attack-brothers-were-being-sought-by-police.html

I keep thinking did the 2 boys know right from wrong? What made them go out and attack those 2 boys so horrifically?

Have we lost a generation of children, or a minority of children, who don't know right from wrong, who have no respect for other people, their property, or their community in general.

When i was a youngster we played about and yes we sometimes were a bit loud, but if someone complained or asked us to be quiet we did as we were asked because we had respect for others.

Now if you asked some kids / youths to be quiet or move away from your house, or a certain area, you're lucky to just get a foul mouthed reply. There has been instances where the kids / youths, attacked the person and put them in hospital or killed them.

Some kids / youths are out of control, they have no respect for anyone. When the police try to move them along the police just get a mouthful of abuse, and even attack the police if they try to arrest them.

Who is to blame?
The parents?
The government?
Police?
Society?

What can be done?
They need a strong guiding hand to get them back on the straight and narrow. If they break the law then a strong punishment should be dealt out to them.

I believe a young offenders institute based on the military prison system like Colchester where they don't have a minute to yourself, apart from when you are asleep. It should scare them enough that they wouldn't want to go back.

In the prison they could be taught a trade and maybe they could end up joining the military. They need something to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Something has to be done because i am worried about the future. What will it be like in 10 to 20 years time when those kids grow up and have kids of their own. If the parents didn't know right from wrong, who will teach those kids?

Something has to be done. My idea might work who knows, but something has to be done.
