If David Laws had come clean about his expenses last year, or even before the election, he might of survived this, but when the coalition government announced a new open and honest government, for David Laws it was too late.
I admit it isn't as bad as some MPs, I mean £750 - £950 a month rent isn't too bad for London.
If he goes, which might be very soon if the news reports are true, it will be a shame because he looked like he was making a very good start at the treasury.

Who is Ed Balls?
This video is doing the rounds on the blogs.
Take a look.
What does Balls think of our military?
Not much, because he feels that he should pay for a wreath on Remembrance Sunday with his expenses.
Why didn't he pay for the wreath out of his own pocket?
I hope the people of his constituency sees this video and see what he is really like.
I have asked this before, but I thought Labour was a working man's political party.
With Balls, Harman and the Milliband brothers, to name a few, all going to private schools, is there any Labour ministers actually from a working class background?

MPs using Legal Aid
Now there is, quite rightly, utter outrage at the three MPs using legal aid to pay for their defense against the expenses charges.
If they do get to rip off the taxpayers, yet again, by using legal aid, might I suggest a tar and feathering party with 3 special guests;

BNP chief Nick Griffin claims £200,000 Euro expenses
An extract;
BNP leader Nick Griffin was accused of joining “the expenses gravy train” today after it emerged that he has claimed hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The British National Party chief, who was elected last year as Euro MP for the North West of England, has submitted claims for more than £200,000 for his work in Brussels.
The costs, which come on top of his £82,000 MEP salary, include some £18,000 in “consultancy fees” and £10,000 in “agent fees”.
He attacked MPs for being troughers on expenses, so what does he do when he gets elected?
He was elected to look after the constituents of the north west, but he is more interested in filling his pockets with taxpayers money.
He is even worse than most of the MPs in Westminster, because he has claimed a hell of a lot more in 1 year than a lot of the MPs have claimed in 4 years.

Housing minister says repossession is the 'best thing' for home owners
The housing minister suggested repossession is the “best thing” for struggling home owners on the day figures showed evictions reached a 14-year high.
That is the headline to this article.
This comes from a guy who made a profit of £88,000 on a flat. See extract from the article below;
As part of The Daily Telegraph’s investigation into MPs expenses, Mr Healey was found to have made a profit of £88,000 on a flat in south London that was subsidized by the taxpayer for at least five years.
He was also found to have claimed £1,317 to replace his own front door, while he overclaimed more than £2,000 for mortgage interest.
We, the taxpayer, subsidized his flat and he makes a profit on it.
This government let the housing market spiral out of control with mortgages worth four, five, six or more times your salary.
It just couldn't be sustained and it all came crashing down.
People losing their homes must be devastating for them, but you get an idiot come on and say it is the best thing for them to lose their homes.
These people work their arses off trying to keep a roof over their family's head, but you John Healey housing minister, have had your home subsidized by US, your mortgage interest paid by US, furniture paid by US, repairs paid by US.

Does Crime Pay? Part 2
This time it's Tony McNulty (See Link)
This Minister for The Home office, who basically was the minister for law and order, had 2 homes within 8 miles of each other. The second home allowance was meant for mps who live too far away to commute everyday, not mps who live with in 10 miles.
How the hell did he get away with it for so long?
How many more mps have done this?
He has been told to repay £13,000 and to apologise to the house of commons. Oh what a punishment that is to someone who has fiddled around £72,000 for his second home. Now it is said that he can keep £60,000 of the, fiddled, expenses claimed.
Do these politicians forget that the money they are fiddling is OUR money, the taxpayers money that we earn through bloody hard work. We work to try and give ourselves and our families a home, food and clothing, and if possible a holiday now and again, but these politicians use OUR money like it is a divine right for them to give themselves as much of OUR money as they possibly can.
There has to be 100% disclosure about all expenses in the future. I don't think the taxpayers will ever forgive the politicians if anything like this happens again.
It comes to mind President Lincoln's address where he ended with;
'That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government; of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth'
We so desperately need a government 'of the people, by the people, for the people.' Not the shower we have now
